On June 17, Mazda’s British corporation, Mazda UK announced, “We’ll be releasing the 25th Anniversary MX-5 Roadster Limited Edition and 750 of them will be available to customers in the UK”. Only 1,000 MX-5 Roadsters will be available in the world and 75% of them will be sold in the UK. This could be due to the fact that there are many people there who love convertible sports cars.
For this limited edition model, only 100 units for the US and 25 units for Japan will be available. Due also in part to its limited availability, pre-orders in the US on May 20th were sold out in 10 minutes. As for Japan, reservations were fully booked in a matter of minutes as well.
Mr. Jeremy Thomson of Mazda UK said, “Since the introduction of our first generation MX-5 Roadster to the UK in 1990, we’ve released 43 special edition models in three generations. However, there hasn’t been a model that is more important than this 25th Anniversary MX-5 Roadster.”
