The Buick Blackhawk is custom car designed to underline Buick’s history of design and power for the specialised hot rod audience.
The Buick Blackhawk is basically a 2-plus-2 convertible with a retractable hard top, and curves that came out of the 40's. Up front is a classic 1939 Buick grille, this original piece then flows into the curvaceous metalwork which combines the bodies of 1941 and 1948 Buick Roadmasters.
"This is a very special show car," said Michael E. Doble, Buick’s special vehicles manager: "It has classic styling combined with contemporary proportions. If you’re talking about customised cars, the Blackhawk is the ultimate expression of Buick."
All of the Buick Blackhawk concept, except the grille, has been customised, and the resulting car – complete with black cherry paint, shaved door handles and discreet headlights – is a streamlined, retro head-turner.
