Range Rover MK4 Concept

Land Rover Range Rover Concept
The creative minds over at Autocar magazine have come up with a rendering they say is an accurate representation of the next generation Range Rover.
Based on information from insiders at Land Rover, Autocar are saying that the 2013 Range Rover will be the company’s most advanced and futuristic vehicle ever. Not surprising considering every new generation of the Range Rover ushers in more and more high-tech off-road technology.

The MK4 Range Rover is said to be lighter than the current car thanks to a new pressed aluminium monocoque. But despite being lighter it’s also larger – being both wider and longer. The wheelbase has been increased to the benefit or rear seat passengers who will get even more legroom.
Autocar’s homemade rendering of the next generation Range Rover draws heavily on the styling of the mold-breaking Evoque. Range Rover have stated that the Evoque is a blueprint for the new lineup of Land Rovers, so it’s a safe bet several of its styling features will make it into the next Range Rover. Quite how accurate Autocar’s design is to the final product remains to be seen.
Another area in which the Range Rover has always excelled is in interior quality. For the MK4 Range Rover that’s set to get even better. Sources at Land Rover have hinted that for the new car they want to achieve build quality and craftsmanship which rival that of Bentley.

In the engine department a range of familiar V6 and V8 diesels will be on offer, as well as V8 and Supercharged V8 gasoline models. New to the Range Rover could be V6 and Supercharged V6 gasoline engines as well as a possible hybrid model. But whatever drivetrains end up making the final cut, they will all be more economical thanks to the car’s reduced bulk.
