2020 Maserati GranTurismo Concept

2020 Maserati Gran Turismo Concept
The 2020 Maserati GranTurismo concept was developed by a quartet of designers under the supervision of FIAT – Maserati’s parent company. All four – Georgios Gougoulakis, Michal Cerva, Cesar Ferreira Pieri, and Andrea Urso – are graduates of the Transportation and Automobile design course at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
The primary aim of the project was to design a next-generation GranTurismo which would be instantly recognisable as a Maserati, with or without the badges. In order to achieve this, the designers were careful not to radically alter the car’s overall proportions, while also adding their own futuristic twist to Maserati’s most iconic model.

In profile it’s apparent that the front and rear overhangs have been reduced, and the windshield has been moved back around 10 cm. The rear wheels are covered so as to improve the car’s aerodynamic profile. Up front the traditional oval Maserati grille has been ditched in favor of a more Ferrari-like aperture, and the headlights have been integrated into the peak of the front wheel arches.
The fluid shape of the 2020 Maserati GranTurismo concept is unbroken by side mirrors, and in their place are two small cameras mounted high on the a-pillars. The LED taillights are designed to be a stylized version of the Maserati Trident emblem.
A full-length glass roof provides better visibility and comfort for the occupants. The interior has room for four, and the front seats consist of a visible aluminium frame and lightweight leather-wrapped padding. The center section of the steering wheel is stationary and features a large multi-function display screen. The two side-spokes – and paddle shift mechanism – of the three-spoke steering wheel are designed to imitate the shape of the Maserati trident emblem.
Despite being a vision of the future Maserati GranTurismo, the designers have come to the conclusion that a standard 4.2 litre V8 would be the best power source.
