SEAT IBH Concept

SEAT is Spain’s only mainstream car manufacturer to still exist. It might be owned by Volkswagen, but that doesn’t stop Spaniards flocking to the brand like flies on… Well you get the idea.
SEAT’s current lineup primarily consists of last-generation VWs and Audis which have been rebadged and given a new lease of life. But to be honest they deserve better and more distinctive vehicles. Step forward Javier Carracedo Siesto, a Spanish designer based near Barcelona. He has recently finished an internship at SEAT where he worked in the exterior design department. While there he also developed the SEAT IBH concept, a proposal for a radically-styled two seat convertible sports car.

The SEAT IBH has the same triangular LED-framed headlights as the most recent crop of SEAT production cars. But that’s where the similarities end. Most SEAT’s are fairly bland hatchbacks and family cars, but the SEAT IBH concept is anything but bland. It has an unusual body design which makes it look like a small blackhole is forming somewhere in the cockpit and dragging all the body panels toward it. The styling might not be to everyone’s taste, but in a world where originality is in short supply, the IBH is refreshingly different.
The occupants of the SEAT IBH concept would get a pretty good view of the world around them thanks to the extremely open cockpit and lack of a full-size windscreen.
Powering the SEAT IBH concept is a hybrid drivetrain which consists of a small front-mounted internal combustion engine and a rear-mounted electric motor supplied by a pair of lithium-ion batteries located under the floor.
