After a 16 year absence Porsche will make a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans race this year. To mark their return to endurance racing the company has created a special edition version of the 911. Called the Porsche 911 S Martini Racing Edition, the car wears the famous Martini branding which was used on several iconic Porsche race cars in the past. Cars like the 917, which domintaed the World Sportscar Championship in the late ’60s and early ’70s, and the wild 935 “Moby Dick” race car from the late 1970s.
Unlike those cars however, the Porsche 911 S Martini Racing Edition isn’t meant for the track. It doesn’t mean it can’t go there occasionaly, it’s just it’s probably more at home on the street.
Changes over the standard 911 Carrera S on which its is based include a special front Aerokit Cup apron with lip spoiler, a matching Aerokit Cup fixed rear spoiler, illuminated stainless steel sill panels and of course those graphics. On the inside the car receives dashboard accents in the same color as the body (the car only comes in black or white by the way), a Porsche sport design steering wheel, and a number of normally optional upgrades come as standard, including Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation module, a Bose sound system, a black-faced tachometer dial and all-electric sport seats upholstered in black leather.

Powering the car is a 3.8 litre flat-six engine developing 400 horsepower. With the PDK double-clutch transmission the car can go from 0-62 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
Just 80 examples of the Martini Racing Edition 911 will be built, and it’s limited to buyers in Europe, China, Japan and Latin America. An aftermarket kit for the Martini decals will be supplied in other markets.
