Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition
It’s been 25 years since Mazda gave the world the MX-5 Miata. An affordable, reliable, fun sports car wrapped up in an easy to maintain and upgrade front-engined, rear-wheel-drive package. It was, is, and probably will be for some time yet, the benchmark affordable two-seat sports car.
To mark the last quarter of a century of production, and nearly 1 million cars built. Mazda have developed a limited edition version of the roadster called the Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition is based on the 160 horsepower 2.0 litre version of the car. It features a power retractable hard top and will be available with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition will be sold exclusively in a special color; Soul Red Metallic. Other notable design elements of the special edition model include black colored A-pillars, and a black painted roof and door mirror housings.
On the inside the Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition features light-colored leather seats and a dashboard plaque identifying it as a special edition.
Performance wise Mazda haven’t done much. The drivetrain is unaltered, and the only adjustment to the chassis setup is a set of Bilstein dampers and model-specific 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition made its world debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show. At the same event Mazda took the opportunity to show off their newly developed SKYACTIV-Chassiswhich will form the basis for the next-generation MX-5.
The new chassis shows how the next-generation MX-5 will benefit from an engine which is located slightly further back than before, giving  it more of a mid-front engine position for improved weight distribution. The new model is also said to be both lighter, safer and come with a more rigid chassis than ever before.
