With the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept scooping the best concept car award at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, and additionally Nissan explicitly stating that it provides a glimpse of the future design of its cars, it stands to reason that it would be a fairly good place to start when designing the next generation of the GT-R.
And the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept is exactly where the Hungarian designer and Photoshop artist X-TOMI got his inspiration for his 2016 Nissan GT-R, right down to the boomerang-shaped headlights and even the bright orange color.
Personally I think it looks great, especially from the front angle. It has perhaps a slightly too-large front overhang, and the wheelbase could do with shrinking by a couple of inches. But overall it’s a promising start. Things aren’t so great round the back, where the first impressions are of a jacked-up Continental GT. But will a few tweaks it could certainly be a worthy successor to the current GT-R.
