At the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, Isuzu had on their stand a mock-up of a concept tractor unit which was designed to show off the company’s ideas for the future of commercial transport. Isuzu say the T-NEXT concept features a design which exemplifies the brands styling traits of; Clean, Solid, and Emotional. And as far as commercial tractors go it’s a good looking piece of kit. Maybe not quite as cool as Fiat’s Ducato Truckster concept from 2006. But still nice.
The T-NEXT was designed to be as aerodynamic as possible – helping to significantly reduce fuel costs – while also retaining a practical and feasible layout. At the same time, Isuzu say the T-NEXT concept features the latest safety systems – without actually mentioning what those are.
On the inside, the Isuzu T-NEXT has a central driving position. The multi-function dashboard is designed to provide a wide variety of information to the driver to aid navigation and improve safety. When the T-NEXT is parked up the steering wheel can be pushed forward into the dash to provide extra space for the driver to relax.
