Suzuki Q-Concept

The Suzuki Q-Concept is a weird-looking ultra-compact car which will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. Suzuki say the Q-Concept is designed to bridge the gap between cars and motorcycles. Despite being only 2.5 metres long (8.2 feet) and 1.3 metres (4.2 feet) wide, the Q-Concept has space for two occupants in a tandem seating arrangement. Or the rear seat can be removed to increase cargo space.

To anyone born with at least one working eye, it’s fairly obvious the Q-Concept has more than a little bit in common with Nissan’s Pivo concepts. Both are small, circular in shape, and designed to act as an urban commuter.

The Suzuki Q-Concept is powered by an electric drivetrain which offers a range of 31 miles and a top speed of 37 mph.

Suzuki said of the car: “The Q-concept is more practical than a car as it’s more manoeuvrable and takes up much less parking space. At the same time, a cabin makes it a more attractive, more comfortable option than a motorcycle. It’s outstandingly handy for shopping, commuting, going to the doctor, transporting children, and all the other short journeys in everyday life.”
