Lamborghini will showcase their new Veneno at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show later today. The Veneno marks the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini. It is a special car, close to the Italian car maker. The one showed here, is a prototype. It features red, white and green accents on its flanks to depict the Italian flag. Production is limited to just 3 units, all of which are sold already. Price of the Veneno is not $4.7m, as was expected earlier, it is €3 ($3.9 or £2.6 or INR 21.3 crores).
Lamborghini has stated that special attention is paid to aerodynamic efficiency where the Veneno is concerned. It’s engine is based on Aventador’s 6.5 liter V12, but tweaked to offer 750 bhp, which is a good 50 hp more than what is seen on the Aventador. Top speed is at 221 mph while entire demeanor of the vehicle spells sports with its scissors doors and larger intake air vents.
Veneno chassis and out-body is made of carbon fiber reinforced composite material while interiors are also seen in carbon composites along with lightweight material on seats and other surfaces. The Veneno weighs 1,450 kgs, which makes it 125 kg lighter than the Aventador. Alloy sub frames are seen at the front and rear.
