Citroen Eco-Luxury Sedan

The Citroen Eco-Luxury Sedan is a creation of Ankit Prashar, a graduate of Coventry University's Transport Design course. The concept was Prashar's final year project, and the design received a commendation at the university's degree show. Prior to studying at Coventry he attended the first year at I.E.D. in Turin, Italy. The idea behind the Eco-Luxury Sedan was to design an upmarket vehicle which would appeal to buyers in the luxury car segment, while also looking to sustainable and renewable technology to make the car more environmentally friendly. To achieve these goals the Citroen Eco-Luxury Sedan concept utilizes lightweight materials to improve overall efficiency, and an electric drivetrain. The propulsion system of the Eco-Luxury Sedan concept comprises of a hydrogen fuel cell element which charges the batteries, which in turn power the in-hub electric motors. This results in a zero emission vehicle which has an extended range thanks to both the hydrogen fuel cell, and photovoltaic panels integrated into the bodywork just forward of the windscreen. The interior of the Citroen Eco-Luxury Sedan has a 1+2 seating layout. Prashar states that this format was chosen due to the fact; "most high-end luxury cars are chauffeur driven and carry a maximum of 2 passengers on the rear seat, this seating layout provides better space and luxury to the rear passengers ensuring immense legroom without increasing the overall length of the car."The vehicle also features hub-less wheels at the rear which means there is no intrusion of the mechanical elements under the bodywork. This allows the vehicle to have a flat floor at the rear which further increases the interior space and versatility. To create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere inside the Citroen Eco-Luxury Sedan, Prashar has designed glass roof panels which are influenced by the works of French architect, Jean Nouvel. The texture and pattern on these panels filters the sunlight and creates unique patterns inside the vehicle which mimic the effect of sunlight passing through the branches and leaves of a tree.
